James R. Lighty, 62, of 30 Pleasant Run died at 2 a.m. Friday. Mr. Lighty was employed at R. R. Donnelley & Son for 44 years. He was a member of First Methodist Church, Eagles Lodge, Elks, and American Legion. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School. Mr. Lighty was born Oct. 5, 1930, at Fithian, Ill., to Archie and Virgie Stringfield Lighty. He married Lelane Kay Farner on Nov. 8, 1957, at Crawfordsville. She survives. Also surviving are his mother; two sons, Brent James and Bradley Robert, both of Indianapolis; two brothers, Marion of Crawfordsville and Estel of Veedersburg; and a sister, Betty Chezem of Crawfordsville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 .m. Sunday at Burkhart Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with the Rev. Mark Dodd officiating. Burial will be in the Rosedale Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Saturday. There will be American Legion services at the graveside. Memorials may be made to the Montgomery County Boys-Girls Club or the American Legion Nurses Scholarship Fund.
